Wauve
Wauve (aka Robeal Yohannes) is the new act at the forefront of the melting pot emerging within London’s ever-growing music scene. A first-generation Eritrean immigrant, Wauve is known for his unique mix of R&B-infused afrobeat - a sound that has been carefully calculated, utilizing his dynamic ability to shape every element of a song. The hard work paid off; his independently released summer anthem “Vogue” has gained over 2M streams across platforms and a top-10 spot on the Spotify UK viral chart.
Early in his career he found steady work engineering and producing for YouTubers thanks to the superior sound he was able to achieve, even without a shiny studio to work from. One of his productions, “Mariah”, helped YouTuber Koomz crossover and sign a deal with Sony’s Relentless Records imprint - the song received millions of views and a Sneakbo official remix. Following his debut full-length mixtape ‘Street Serenade’, which can be described as a heartfelt ode to the streets he grew up in, Wauve works towards having a summer full of brand new releases & features in order to capitalise off of the path that he’s laid for himself so far.
Having already gained the nod of approval from R&B legends Ne-Yo and Stargate with the single "Fee Fi Fo" which samples their classic smash hit "So Sick", and collaborating with afrobeats megastar Stonebwoy in his more recent single "Pamela" after having found a deeper connection to his African roots, the rising star's talent has been enough to gain notoriety from major players in all corners of the globe and still has yet to scratch the surfaces of his capabilities.
